CONQUEST FOR DEATH TOUR TO SA
Alameda – Emeryville – Milwaukee – San Francisco –
Tokyo
www.conquestfordeath.com - www.myspace.com/conquestfordeathsf
Conquest for Death is a five-piece hardcore thrash
band. CFD are based all over the globe, yet we make
time to meet, record and tour at least twice a year.
CFD will be in South Africa in mid October. Tour dates are
12 Oct London Calling (JHB)
13 Oct Thrashers (PTA)
16 Oct Roxys (JHB)
19 Oct R.O.A.R (CPT)
CFD members have all been friends for many years and
have played and / or toured together in bands in the
past which have taken them throughout North and South
America, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. CFD
toured the West Coast of the US in September 2006 with
Japanese bands CHARM and UG Man, toured Japan in April
2007 and will tour the Midwest and East Coast of the
US with Japanese band BREAKfAST in July 2007. CFD have
a self-titled 7”, track on a compilation 7” and CD
entitled Front row all self released on Devon’s label
Wajlemac.
CFD have a strong belief and support in the
underground DIY music scene and can probably jabber on
for hours about obscure punk, hardcore and metal bands
the globe over. Travel, communication, and networking
with other underground bands the world over is what
we’re about. As well as being on a never-ending quest
for fun and good food.
CFD are totally excited about their upcoming tour to
Africa and Indian Ocean as none of the band have
visited the region before. Devon is extra stoked as
grew up listening to old school South African bands
like Powerage, Screaming Foetus, Riot Squad, Hoboken,
and Surf or Die as well as being a history nerd and
wants to visit as many historical sites as possible.

This weekend was a good one, but also a bad one as Solitary Confinement played their last 2 shows. Friday was at London Calling with 6 bands and we played last at 1am. Saturday was the Thrashers day fest with 9 bands. Wrust from Botswana played and it was mind blowingThanks to Solitary Confinement for all the gigs we played together. It was day 1 for us when we played with Solitary Confinement at that house party which was a rainy day

Please help us if you can: We are screwed for band practices as everyone is busy during the day. We have found a place, buts it's R100/hr. So if possible, can anyone help us to practice in their garage or room at night or on weekends. Or if anyone knows of a place where we can practice

December was a good month. Started with Hateball arriving in South Africa. It was months ago when the idea was first thought of. The year went by very fast with Dean, Grant, Christo and Kamal finishing school and Brian finishing university. For close on a week we hung out with Hateball. Vaughns, Galloolys farm, wild waters and the 3 shows were awesome. Bohemians and Thrashers were cool shows but with few people. The last show was on Monday at Geckos which was the last time we saw HateballIt was then time for us to start our road trip. First stop was Bloem for 2 days where we played 1 show with Oi!Rothol, The Deadbeats and Panic Attack. A bit unfortunate that Hateball couldn’t come with. Would have been realy cool if Hateball came on tour with us – always another time.Next stop was Cape Town, 1000km away and about 12 hours. Cape Town was realy good – it had a bit of bad luck though (keys locked in the car and everyone getting sick from Brian, which is the last time Brian swims in a public pool!). All in all it was awesome. Played the first show on 8Dec at Wynberg with all the kiddies – Brian still being sick from Bloem. Had Greg’s 18th birthday party at the camp site. Most of the time we went to Observatory (nothing beats R5 drinks!). Played the second show on 15Dec above Gandalfs (which was only finished being renovated 2 hours before the show). Realy cool show and good crowd.Cape Town was a mad party/tour/matric-university holiday. Thanks to the Bloem & Cape Town punx and special thanks to Carl, Tommy and Greg for all the organising.

31 July 06 Awesome month it was. London Calling was crazy the first time (7Jul) and the second time even more crazy (14Jul). Next was the Smashit Up Chaos fest (28-29 Jul), a hectic weekend. We are taking a small break cos the 4 guys are doing prelims now. We'll be playing again on 22 Sep at London Calling. After that we out again for October and November cos of matric finals. See the gig guides for our tour to Cape Town with an international band.

Well one blast of a weekend. London Calling show was one of our best, with all our cds sold (cos we didn't copy enough) and Brian's birthday the next day. We've got more copies so get hold of us to get yours. We also have to take the gigs easy as the 4 lads are inatric. We'll do our best to play a gig here and there

We recorded this weekend at a studio in Benoni (actually next to a church - but anyway), and will have a ep/cd thing with 8-9 tracks sometime. Included is a diy cover with the lyrics. R5 is what you can expect to pay or just copy it from your friend and give it to your other friend, or give us a blank cd and we'll copy it for you. It will be ready by the show @ London Calling 28April

On Friday we played at a fucken library/church place in Strubens Valley Valley. We were supposed to play at a house party or something but it ended up being at the local library. There were a bunch of jocks playing some rave junes. They really did not know what to expect. Thanks to all the people who came to see us even though we were cut short and you couldnt really hear us - but NO thanks to those asses who wanted us to leave. See the pictures section
